The level 3 students were pioneers today and made hardtack and butter to go along with our westward expansion unit in social studies. They made the hardtack and butter from scratch then enjoyed tasting them. Some students thought it was pretty tasty while others were not so impressed.

It was a great morning! Edgemont, Mt. View Lodge #161 sponsored the Child ID event and the YMCA assisted to process 60% of the children from K-8. This program provides identification information for parents to use in case the unthinkable ever happens. The information is used to help find lost and missing children. We so appreciate the Lodge coming in to provide this service, and all of the volunteers who help make it happen!

The Masons will be at the school tomorrow offering the CHIP (Child Identification Program) for all of our community kids. If the unthinkable should ever happen, the CHIP program provides information to help find a lost or missing child. The program is free, the information is confidential (parents receive the packet with the information) and it can live in the freezer indefinitely. If you have not received a permission packet, please stop at the school tomorrow to fill it out so you can have this valuable information about your child, should it ever be needed.
