The Primary Class has been hard at work in Art class this week! Throughout the year they have been learning about famous artists that inspire us. Today they created paintings like the artist Jackson Pollock.

Our very own senior, JJ Ostenson, has made it as a finalist in the "Rising Star of the West" competition, a fantastic opportunity presented by KEVN Black Hills FOX TV and Monument Health. This competition gives talented area seniors the chance to showcase their skills and win a share of $7,500 in scholarships!
JJ has already impressed by becoming a semi-finalist with his engaging video submission on a topic close to his heart. Now, he's just one step away from the finals, where he'll face a new challenge: creating a video on a prompt given by the station. We have no doubt that JJ will excel with his creativity and passion!

It is Music in Our Schools Month and we are.celebrating by having 3 CONCERTS this week! Tues. 6:30- HS "pops" concert, Wed. - 3:10- Elem. Instrumental concert celebrating the 100th day of school, and Thurs. 6:30- MS musical with dessert bar- $5:00

Did you know there are only 40 days until the Fine Arts Fair? Our Fine Arts Fair is a magical night of art displays, musical performances, and Senior Project Presentations. What are senior projects, you may ask? Senior Project is a capstone experience that our seniors must do to graduate from Edgemont. The project is extremely taxing on students, requiring hours of work in the form of a ten-page research paper, a minimum of 20 hours spent on a product of their choice, work with an advisor and mentor, and two separate presentations in front of a judges' panel. For the next 40 days, we will periodically release information about one of our seniors and their respective projects. While other schools are cutting their senior project graduation requirements, Edgemont High School continues to honor its high expectations for students.
